Known for her work with DJ Spooky, new music violinist ADRIANNA MATEO performs {NUE|LUSH}: a selection of contemporary pieces written for her by fifteen composers over the past two years, tailored to her emotionally raw lyricism. {NUE|LUSH} composers include Ryan Homsey, Gregory J. Menillo, Ely Moskowitz, Joseph Prestamo, Emmanuel Sikora, and Jorn Swart. This program also includes selections by Ravel. Adrianna Mateo will perform with pianist Pavel Bogomiakov. Adrianna Mateo pairs disarming vulnerability with a riveting stage presence. She has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the TimesCenter, the Jewish Museum, Symphony Space, and on tour in Italy and France. In the summer of 2013, Mateo will tour {NUE|LUSH} in New Zealand and Australia. Adrianna Mateo has worked intensively with experimental hip-hop artist DJ Spooky, performing solo violin on stage and in the studio, including his documentary about human trafficking in China. Mateo has appeared with New York City-based ensembles PUBLIQuartet and W4 New Music Collective. As a member of Mimesis Ensemble, she recorded Mohammed Fairouz’s Sumeida’s Song with Grammy Award-winning producer David Starobin (Bridge Records). This past September, Mateo was featured as the front cover story of the TimesLedger's Qguide. She was also reviewed by the Savona News (Italy) and interviewed for international broadcast by NTD TV.
